Toasted sesame oil is a commonly used culinary ingredient that has a distinct nutty taste and aroma. Regarding its impact on histamine levels, there is limited scientific research specifically addressing this topic; however, some insights can be drawn from information about its key ingredient: sesame seeds. Sesame seeds, like other seeds and nuts, may contain varying levels of histamine. Although precise histamine levels can depend on numerous factors, including storage conditions, sesame seeds are not typically classified among the foods with the highest histamine content. In regards to being a histamine liberator, current research does not directly list sesame seeds or sesame oil as histamine liberators.
