Additional Informations
Cherimoya fruit, also known as custard apple, is a tropical fruit known for its sweet, custard-like flavor. Based on extensive research, including an analysis of its ingredients and comparison with other foods, it does not seem to contain high levels of histamine or act as a histamine liberator.
Conversely, Cherimoya fruit contains a good amount of Vitamin C and magnesium, both of which have been suggested to help in lowering histamine levels. Vitamin C is a natural antihistamine and can reduce the immune system's response to allergies and inflammation (Lau et al., 2004). Simultaneously, magnesium deficiency has been linked to higher histamine production, so maintaining good magnesium levels can help keep histamine in control (Cox 2020).
Despite these facts, it's important to remember that everyone's reaction to food can differ due to various factors. Therefore, if you are histamine-sensitive, it's always a good practice to monitor your body's reactions after consuming new foods.
