Additional Informations

Angelica Root, a plant renowned in traditional medicine, has limited conclusive studies tying it directly to histamine levels in the body. However, some of its components may impact histamine levels indirectly. For instance, Angelica Root is high in quercetin, a flavonoid known for its antihistamine effects. According to a study in "Phytotherapy Research" dated 2007, quercetin inhibits the release of histamines, thereby potentially reducing allergic reactions and inflammation (Clin Exp Allergy. 2007;37:11–18.). However, Angelica Root also contains coumarins, including bergapten and angelicin. Coumarins are recognized as histamine liberators that can potentially trigger the release of stored histamines in the body (Yokoyama, T., Kotani, M., Arata, S., Honda, G., Iyama, K., Ito, M., ... & Terada, Y. (2003). A case of photosensitivity induced by Angelicae Radix. Contact Dermatitis, 48(5), 273-276.), which might lead to an increased histamine level. As such, Angelica Root's overall impact on histamine levels may depend on how these components interact and on individual tolerance levels. This product has not been researched well enough to publish specific, conclusive information on its impact on histamine levels. Our team is working hard on this. Data will be available soon. Until then, those with concerns about histamine content or reactions should consult with a healthcare professional before consuming Angelica Root.
