Additional Informations

Cashew cream, a favourite among plant-based diet consumers, is made primarily from blending soaked cashews with water. The finished product is a smooth, creamy substance similar in consistency to dairy cream. The direct relationship between cashew cream consumption and histamine levels is not well-documented. There's no concrete evidence suggesting that cashews are high in histamine or act as histamine liberators. A study documented in the International Archives of Allergy and Immunology indicates that certain nuts, including cashews, can indeed release histamine in certain individuals, but the extent of this might significantly depend on individual sensitivity (Yao et al., 1989). It's essential to note that cashews are not among the commonly listed foods known for having high levels of histamine content, nor they are considered histamine liberators. Cashews and other nuts are, however, listed among foods that can potentially delay histamine's breakdown, further complicating the matter. But again, these effects can significantly differ from person to person (Maintz, Novak 2007). For the moment, the role of cashew cream in altering histamine levels remains unconfirmed, pending more specific research. This product's influence on histamine has not been researched well enough to publish any definitive information. References: Yao, R. et al.
