Additional Informations
Sesame seeds are rich in a variety of nutrients, including some that can impact histamine levels. They contain a substantial amount of magnesium and vitamin B6, two nutrients known for their antihistamine properties. Magnesium helps to deter the excessive production of histamine, while vitamin B6 aids the immune system in controlling an overactive inflammatory response. Therefore, eating sesame seeds may help in the reduction of histamine levels, aiding in the symptomatic relief brought on by excess histamine.
Additionally, they possess a high omega-6 fatty acid content. Omega-6 fatty acid acts as a precursor to prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), a substance in the body that can release histamine and hence might induce a reaction in individuals with histamine intolerance.
However, sesame seeds per se are not considered to be histamine liberators, hence the ingestion of sesame seeds should not promote the release of histamine unless you are allergic to them.
