Additional Informations
Oats have not been conclusively studied for their impact on histamine levels. Due to their nutrient profile, they don't fall into the typical 'high histamine' or 'histamine liberating' food categories. Oats contain compounds like beta-glucan, a type of soluble fiber known for promoting gut health, which can indirectly aid in the overall histamine degradation process, due to the role of gut microbiota in histamine regulation (Zhang et al, 2019).
However, some oat products may vary in their histamine influence due to differences in processing methods or additional ingredients. For instance, if oats are blended with other food items such as strawberries (a histamine liberator), cocoa products or nuts (which can delay histamine breakdown), then the end product may impact histamine levels differently (Maintz et al, 2007).
Nevertheless, at this stage, no concrete evidence suggests that consumption of plain oats should create any abnormal histamine response in individuals without a prior histamine intolerance. This product has not been researched well enough to publish any additional specific information. Our team is working hard on this. Data will be available soon.
